PILLARS OF HEALTH

FAQs

WHAT IS DIRECT PRIMARY CARE or DPC?

DPC is a healthcare model where patients pay a monthly membership fee for access to comprehensive primary care services. We emphasize a direct relationship between the patient and the provider with same-day or next-day appointments, extended visit times and easy access to your provider through various communication methods.

why should you choose direct primary care?

There are many reasons to invest in direct primary care but specifically individuals and households seeking to optimize their health. Particularly, individuals and families with high deductible plans, health savings accounts or health shares will save money with my NP direct. Also, if you are interested in optimizing your health with a personalized health and wellness plan or just disrupting they current health care system. At My NP Direct we are committed to transparency in pricing without any unexpected fees. In addition, members gain access to complimentary therapies including acupuncture, IV hydration therapy or alternative allergy therapy at a discounted rate.

can i use my insurance?

Yes. You will pay my NP direct at the time of service with your health savings account, cash or credit and then you can submit your bill yourself for out-of-network, and some in-network, reimbursement. This way the savings go directly to you and we are not paying any insurance companies to push the papers around so there are no surprise bills.

And no. Sadly, we are not able to see patients who have Medicare or Medicaid coverage at this time but will continue to explore options to serve all in our community.

what is a nurse practitioner (NP)?

A Nurse Practitioner is a bachelor’s prepared registered nurse who has received a master’s or a doctoral-level education. In the state of Minnesota Family Nurse Practitioners are able to assess, order diagnostic testing, diagnose, prescribe medications and treat primary and urgent care conditions as independent practitioners. Family Nurse Practitioners specifically can provide primary care services for patients throughout their life span. At my NP direct we not only provide traditional medical therapy, which includes procedures and medications, but we also explore root-cause of disease and include evidence-based lifestyle and holistic medicine along with personalized wellness coaching to optimize your health!
